Ward Norris
B.A. Biblical Education, Florida Bible College 1976 B.S. Education, Tennessee Technological University 1989 M.A. Curriculum and Instruction, Tennessee Technological University 1991 Ward's love of things audio and visual began with a present he received on his 6th birthday. It was a set of children's records with a cricket logo. Mesmerized by the sound and the smiling Cricket going round and round, Ward's love of the audio visual took full root. His early fascination with things musical grew into a love for film that has been part of every stage of his career and life thus far. In addition to work as an educator in public schools, Christian schools and industry, Ward has over 27 years experience in media and news. Paying his dues at at KJAV in Alamo, Texas and WPTN AM under Drue Huffines, Ward was chosen as the first Production Director of the Country Giant. He was a steady "b" character on Pappy and Dufus, a nation-wide production, and did comic relief on WCTE's newscast. For the Warner Brother's affiliate WKZX, Ward was weather anchor for the evening newscast broadcast throughout the Upper Cumberland. Additionally, he produced and worked as on-air host for a live one-hour morning show on WKZX, which later was sold to Paxnet. Producer of "The Bridal Network," he was the recipient of a 2007 Silver Telly Award -- the highest recognition level a t.v. production can receive. Since 2001, he has owned Only Sterling Films and produced a variety of industry-related video productions, commercials, training and documentary pieces. His joy is his wife, Lisa, and his children, Ward (a captain currently with the 10th Mtn. Division, Ft. Drum NY, Amy, EN, and Emily), Marshall, currently an Mechanical Engineer with Flexial (Nissa, and baby Corbin), Luke, who is finishing his bachelors at Pan Am, in Texas, and Jessica who's finishing her B.A. at TTU. Lisa, his wife, is his ezer kenegdo. (You might have to look that up in a Hebrew Lexicon). She supports UCDailyNews.com as a business advisor. Ward serves as Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher and Song Leader at his church in Baxter, TN. He enjoys making music and the fact that his work and play are difficult to differentiate. Local news, in a timely way, along with video that showcases the amazing, talented, musical, wonderful, beautiful people of the Upper Cumberland is also a passion. He is thrilled to be a part of this endeavor. |
