CHS Bowling Team Ends Season

The CHS/UHS boys bowling team ended the season with a 13-1 record.

The boys hosted the district tournament here at Bowling World. They first beat Livingston, then fell short to York Institute in the finals.

Both Cookeville and York advanced to Regionals. Regionals were held in Jamestown, Tennessee. The boys started out with a win against Clarksville.

They then beat Hendersonville, receiving a spot in the finals. They met up with York Institute once again, and lost, placing second in the districts and moving on to Sub-State. Sub-State was held in Smyrna, Tennessee, where they lost the first match to the defending state champions by 80 pins.

The girls bowling team finished up the season with a 9-3 record. Their districts were held in Jamestown, Tennessee where they received a bye into the finals against York Institute.

They finished as runners-up in the districts, advancing on Regionals. Girls’ Regionals were also held in Jamestown. The girls beat Greenbrier in the first round, then got beat by Hendersonville in the second, placing fourth overall. The girls did not qualify for Sub-State.
