Experiences: Cosmotology Winners

By Austin Scantland and Ethan Breeding

When approached by Mrs. Martin, our Charger Sponsor, on what we wanted to do for our articles, Austin Scantland and Ethan Breeding, thought of something we really wanted to do.  We came up with the thought of examining what high school was really about.

High school is about experiencing new things, things you would have never thought of doing. Therefore, we have decided to participate in things we would usually do not do and tell you what we felt and learned in these experiences.

This week on January 24, 2011, Cookeville High School hosted a cosmetology competition with the students from Cookeville and Monterey.  They competed in nails and hair.  The winners were from the first year in the class were Jacquilin Phillips, second year Julianne Stover, and the third year Beatrice Williams, and the over all winner was Daisy Lopez.

The idea came to us.  Girls always talk about how great it is to get a manicure and their nails done.  We have decided to see if it is all they make it out to be.

We are going to experience getting a manicure.  But, we also have other things we never thought we would do that we have lined up including: camping in the back yard, helping out in the Special Ed department, going to a rave, and seeing what is it is like to live in a college dorm.

Keep in touch to see what we experience in these adventures.
