How 'Bout Them Gates

When I talk about the church and what is happening with the church today Matthew 16:18 always comes up..."the gates of hell will not prevail against it".

Gates do not attack. Gates protect what's inside.

If the gates of hell will not be able to stand against the attack of the church, then I have a question. It’s been over 2000 years since Christ spoke these words to us—so Why are the gates of hell still standing?
