Are you going through the pain of separation or divorce?

Not only does Heart of the Cumberland provide Bereavement Peer Support Groups for children and families suffering from grief due to the loss of a loved one, but also Peer Support Groups for children and families going through separation and divorce.

What is a peer support group?

Peer support groups are not therapy or counseling, but are simply a forum for mutual acceptance, understanding, and self discovery through communication with peers who have been in similar situations.

The groups provide opportunities to open up and share feelings and camaraderie with people who understand, thus easing the pain of a difficult situation. “It’s amazing to see what comfort is brought to these precious children by simply cuddling with our Beanie Babies.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make such a big difference in the life of a hurting child,” stated Nanci Dalton, Director of Heart of the Cumberland.

Divorce Peer Support Groups meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month at Heart of the Cumberland.
