“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
If you haven’t guessed by now, this is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. I think it is the one we’ve used the most with the “Weekly Word!” since its inception.
But I have experienced and seen it happen in the lives of so many people recently that I had to share this verse again. I know a couple who had a very difficult time with a business partner that ended badly.
They didn’t give up. They prayed and continued to trust God. Now, they have a brand new operation that’s easier for them and better than the one before.
I know another couple whose marriage was falling apart. Instead of doing what many couples do in this day and age, they sought help from God’s servants. They rededicated themselves to the Lord and each other. Now, they’re marriage is strong and mighty.
I know a family who almost lost their home. They didn’t have enough money to get their home out of foreclosure. They had exhausted all but one of their resources. As a family, they prayed about their situation until they grew tired. The scheduled date to sell their house by the bank came and someone bought it. That someone was a person this couple knew, and that someone gave them their house.
There’s a gentleman I know – a good hearted Christian man – who was diagnosed with a cancer that appeared to be inoperable. It was spreading through his internal organs. I have known many people who had died from this type and so had this man. But he said that he would live until he died and then he was going to live forever.
Hallelujah! We prayed.
Now, according to his oncologist, there is no trace of that cancer in his body. I know a young college student who was working a couple of jobs to pay for her tuition. She came up short. Her parents prayed and made a lot of phone calls. They discovered that she was eligible for many scholarships from various organizations.
I believe she got them all and stayed in school. Friends, the Lord never promised that this life would be easy. The Lord never promised that Christianity would shield us from life’s troubles. But I want to encourage you to never let the appearance of an issue mislead you about the ultimate outcome.
Don’t ever give up and miss out on a blessing tailor-made for you! Your harvest is definite and must come if you hold on. So be blessed by this today.
