Second Harvest Food Distribution At Silver Point

Tools

By Ward Norris

Friday from 11:30 to 1:00 P.M. several hundred people came to the Silver Point Community Center to receive boxes of food provided by the Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville.

Besides having canned and pre-packaged foods, there was also milk, cheese, and fresh produce.

Local Business Person, Jeanie Lee was on hand with a plethora of volunteers from other churches and civic organizations to help distribute the food.

She commented that several of the ones that had been served were down to the bottom of the barrel foodwise--a desperate situation.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennesee points out that 47 % of the people they feed are children.
