According to Rotarian Brad Davis, the event coordinator, Cookeville is set to host some 40 soccer teams from across the state in an October tournament.

The soccer fields located at the site of the old runway north of town will be the epicenter of the event, which expects to draw some 2,000 visitors to the area.

According to Rotary representatives, the event will help the town's economy, be a good community warm up exercise for the upcoming December TSSAA State High School Football Championships, and will raise money for good causes in the Upper Cumberland.

The Rotarians have already helped out the Jere Whitson School playground fund, and they're planning on giving to more charities, both local and worldwide.

Sales for the program ads commence on July 22, and Brad encourages all who are so inclined to pray for good weather for the tournament.
