When the economy gets tough, the tough get going.

Director of Transportation in Cookeville, Tennessee, Terry Randolph makes news with his inspired idea.

Last year, Director of Putnam County Schools, Kathleen Airhart, requested of every employee, to do whatever it took to improve the bottom line.

Times were tough; times are still tough, and they may get tougher.

Several schools took this challenge to heart and did some amazing, pioneering cost reduction plans.

Director of Transportation, Terry Randolph, generated an innovative idea.

He presented to the school board an idea about putting advertising signs on the sides of busses.

As of Tuesday, this idea came to fruition, with signs advertising who to contact to buy advertising.

This is win-win as the busses are all over the community in front of thousands of drivers.

And those that buy the advertising will also be helping out the school system.

526 93 42 is the number to call for information on how to buy an ad.

For the first year, only 10 busses will be available for advertising.
