The Ballingers-- Warm Fire On A Misty Night

Tools

By Ward Norris

With darkened skies over Cookeville misting autumnal rain, … and…

the chilly 45 degrees driving most everyone into a warmer, dryer climes….

This provided the perfect atmosphere for one to cozy into the upstairs section of Taiko Friday night as the Ballinger Family (and friends) once again becharmed with musical spells.

With some entertainers, it’s about the show—the big drama. While other performers convey “look at me.”

With the Ballingers, they hold out their hands and say, “Come with us.”

That sort of invitation proves irresistible.

So the audience takes their proffered hands, and steps through their musical mirror, glimming their way into that magic land—a very colorful, wonderful place.

The Ballingers, serving as tour guides, sing to the group, “Look at this! Isn’t this cool? Oh, and here’s a little sad part. But then, here’s a happy place!”

And then, by and by, but way too soon, the song/journey ends.

Everyone claps outside, but sighs inside—it ended too soon.

But the Ballingers say, “Hey! We’ve got another little trip scheduled right away.”

…and again, they hold out their hands… more wonders and charms….and again…
