Wayne says, "We have brought a brand new service on board, here at the County Clerk's office February 1st.

It's on-line renewals. It's wonderful. It's the new technology age coming to Cookeville.

People are busy, doing other things, so we've set it up so that you can go online and renew your license plates.

Go to PutnamCountyClerk.com or WayneNaborsClerk.com.

In the middle of the page, on the right side, click on the red letters that say, "Online Renewal Service."

This brings up the form.  On that form, type in your license plate number and your title number.

Click "enter" and follow the instructions.

The site will take visa, mastercard, and debit cards, and the fee is $1.00 plus .50 cents for the online server, for a total of $1.50.

That is 50 cents less than doing a renewal by mail, and you don't have to pay for a stamp or walk to the mailbox (to mail it out).

It's pretty simple, so give it a try.
