2011 Middle Tennessee Homeschool Prom Is Almost Here

Tools

The 9th Annual Middle TN Homeschool Prom, on Friday, May 6, is fast approaching.

Prom is open to all home educated high school students, grades 9-12, & their escorts, who may be fellow homeschoolers, or public or private school friends.

The prom welcomes a cross-section of teens, & is unique, in that it draws attendees from all Middle TN counties, & students who homeschool via an array of church-related schools & “umbrella” groups. Students with disabilities have attended & enjoyed the event in the past, & parents of special needs teens may assist their student, as needed.

Today’s hit music is professionally deejayed by F.A.D.D.S. Entertainment w/ “clean edits” & no offensive lyrics. Professional photograph packages by Dollface Charms will also be available. While some teens arrive with dates, an equal number choose to come “stag”, dancing w/ individual buddies, groups of friends, even other prom-goers they’ve met.

Parents are welcome to volunteer, in a variety of roles, including registration desk, photographer’s assistant, “wallflower duty” (dance floor chaperone), and more. This year’s theme is “Unmasked”, a masquerade motif, & will be held at a new location. Hilton Garden Inn, in Smyrna, offers a bigger ballroom, better refreshments, & great rooms, Should families wish to “make an overnight of it”.

Attendees don modest formalwear from evening gowns to party dresses on ladies, to suits & tuxes on the young men. For more info & to register, log onto the prom’s website: midtnhomeschool.com or contact prom coordinator Jennie Kay at: 615-970-9634.
