Final View of Bonneroo

By Evan Allen

As Andrew mentioned before hand, Saturday was an eventful day for me. I was able to get shots of rapper Chiddy Bang from the front of the stage by smooth talking the gate security. After some close shots of Chiddy, I knew who i really wanted to see. I showed up to the stage Eminem was set to play at four shows early in order to ensure myself a wonderful spot. Aside from having to stand for eight hours, this was not at all a bad way to go. Not only was i able to see Wiz Khalifa, Black Uhuru, and The Black Keys beforehand, I also was able to befriend a group from Canada. Let us not forget my main motivation though. Eminem busted onto the stage with channeled energy and an attitude geared towards proving to the world that he was back. A powerful setlist of old and new (as Andrew mentioned earlier) was accompanied by lights video and amazing instrumentation. When Eminem left the stage, the crowd was not appeased. Every chant in the book was roared from the thousands. Marshal (Eminem) responded to the hysteria with one of his most popular songs; it was accompanied by stage pyrotechnics and a Bonnaroo wide firework finale.

On my last day of Bonnaroo, I was able to make my way to the front row of the Neon Trees show. The lead singer was energetic and okay, iʼm just going to cut to the chase.. he took his pants off half way through the setlist. Iron and Wine was the next performance I was able to see. The jazz roots and jamming the produced is just another example of the diversity of music at Bonnaroo.

The Strokes definitely appealed to the alternative rockers of the night. If there was ever a rock concert dance at. This is it.

My final advice about Bonnaroo is to stay hydrated. You wait and wait in the hot sun for your favorite band, but what you have to keep in mind is that you aren't going to be able to hear or see them at all if you are in the medical tent. My favorite item i brought on the trip... my Camel-pack. Not only does this backpack/water bottle hold much more water that an ordinary water bottle, but you never have to hold it. At packed concerts in Bonnaroo, hands free is almost a necessity in this shoulder to shoulder environment.

I loved Bonnaroo so much. A truly diverse and exciting experience.

I'm glad someone from your newspaper can appreciate the arts.

Really enjoyed following along with Evan's trip to Bonnaroo, and I have to say that I definitely prefer my Camelpack over a water bottle any day.
