Komen Grants Available for Breast Health Projects
The Upper Cumberland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is pleased to announce that grants for breast health projects will be available again this year to nonprofit organizations, educational institutions and government entities. Organizations in the Upper Cumberland area are encouraged to be creative in planning projects for education about breast health, advocacy for patients and survivors, or breast cancer screening and treatment. Any age group can be involved in educational programs that teach healthy behaviors and early detection. Potential applicants are invited to attend the second annual grant-writing workshop on Tuesday, June 24 from 9 – 2:30 in the TTU University Center Tech Pride Room. Lunch will be provided, and the workshop will provide instructions for writing successful Komen grant proposals. To pre-register for the workshop or to request more information, call 931-528-5878 or send email to info@komenuppercumberland.org. Grant applications and guidelines are available at www.komenuppercumberland.org. Applications are due September 3, and announcements will be made in October. Travel scholarships are also available for health care professionals and advocates to attend meetings and conferences related to breast health. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest and most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. |
