Today, Amos, who is canine feature writer, return to column for CookevilleTimes. Is springtime. And, after sifting thru many job offers, have determined to return to writing. Is because future promise of delights … tasty wrap sandwiches and sausages. Amos is skilled negotiator.
Is time of spring fever, when extra “Grrrrrr” invades and even a grump feels frisky in his fur. Is like live wire that zapped squirrel… energy need outlets. Amos find interesting outlets. My Mistress is surprised when Amos unzip purse and steal lipstick. (Is personal version of Mardis Gras.) Mistress say is not my color. But metal casing have good “bite” to it. Was simply irresistible.
Master act surprised when retrieve brazil nut collection from zipped bag on third shelf in closet. Is feat of canine athleticism driven by live wire of energy coursing through paws. My People think Amos have difficulty with such endeavors (My People say 11 is much in dog years… harrumph). Heh, Heh, Heh…. Amos have Power Paws and develop complex spreadsheet to work out logistics. Divide task into multi-stage plan and involve girl dog in secret mission. Is easy.
My People still surprised when I take shoe to door, hold in mouth and make big party. Must hold onto something or urge to bite and bark and yell with joy would overwhelm neighborhood. I say to My People – give thanks for the grip on the shoe. Go with the shoe. Is good thing.
People consider long walk – Good People, Good. But is not enough. Amos compelled to sniff flowers, write sappy poetry, spin in circles and dance like pup. Is embarrassing, really. But is springtime, and Amos have heart with mind of its own. Is surprising, yes. But too true.
At end of day, Amos put energy into creative pursuits. Return to singing. Is balm for energized soul in springtime.
With head in paws, Amos contemplate structure of universe and convergence of multiple realities. Is good task for the canine mind in Springtime. Amos lie among new flowers and frown turns to smiling dreams of scintillating culinary delights. Is good day in springtime.
