Mastersingers, the premier community chorus in the Upper Cumberland, is getting ready to begin work on their 2010/ 2011 season.
“The time is near when we will be back together making beautiful music, “ said Dr. Craig Zamer, Music Director of Mastersingers. “I am very excited about this coming season for many reasons.”
Mastersingers will begin their regular rehearsal schedule on Monday, August 23 at 7 PM in TTU’s Bryan Fine Arts Building, room 100. “This first meeting is very important to bring us back together after our summer off,” said Zamer. “We’ll see familiar faces, meet new ones and get some very important information about the coming season which includes a trip to New York City to sing in the spring.”
Mastersingers first performance will be their annual Christmas concert which will be called “Carols and Lullabies”. This holiday staple will include beautiful holiday themed music, classic carols and accompaniment by guitar, harp, and a 5 octave marimba.
“For Mastersingers spring semester, we are planning a trip and performance at the Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center in New York City.” Said Mike Vitti, Mastersingers President. “We will perform the music for that concert in our own hall, as well as perform with the Bryan Symphony Orchestra in April.”
