Buddy Pearson Resigns From Cookeville's Herald-Citizen
CommonSense Media Group has announced that Buddy Pearson, former Editor of the Cookeville Herald-Citizen is now joining their organization. For the past two years, Pearson served as Editor of the "Herald Citizen" -- a daily news publication, but had became widely known throughout the region by his sports coverage over the seven-year period prior to that assignment. Pearson won several Tennessee Sports Writers Association and Tennessee Press Association awards and was twice named Sports Writer of the Year in the State of Tennessee. The husband and father of two looks forward to the change the new position affords. “I have been fortunate enough to meet a lot of people, cover a lot of events and create a lifetime of memories. Now I'm looking forward to a bright new future with Common Sense Media Group. I'm extremely excited about this new opportunity.” Pearson is a member of Cookeville First Assembly. Dean Hutson, CEO, stated, “We appreciate the fine work he has accomplished in the past and look forward to the new opportunities we will engage in together.” CommonSense Publishing grew out of the early development of a senior paper called "Our Senior Times" by David Walker. In the early stages of the paper, Walker joined in partnership with Hutson and formed the company. The two men felt there was enough bad news out there for everyone to read and decided the direction of the company would be to produce publications that were informative, entertaining and contained NO bad news. Under the leadership of this company was the birthing of "Our Journey, A Christian Magazine," "Celebrations," a community magazine of Cookeville and surrounding communities, and "Welcome Home," a magazine showcasing homes and living, inside and out. With the growth of the publications, CommonSense Publishing has developed into CommonSense Media Group. Most Popular |
