Crossville Firm Bags Volkswagen Supplier Contract

Ficosa, an Upper Cumberland manufacturing firm, bagged a supplier contract from Volkswagen to produce exterior mirrors for the Volkswagen's new sedan.

Ficosa North America Corp. located in Crossville, will produce exterior mirrors for Volkswagen’s new car to be rolled out from the Chattanooga plant in the next year.
According to the sources at Volkswagen, a supplier contract has been awarded to Ficosa North America Corp. to produce external rear-view mirrors.
Ficosa NA Corp. at Crossville, formerly Delbar Products Inc. manufactures the exterior rear-view mirror systems.
Until now, Ficosa is the first and only company in the Upper Cumberland region to win a supplier contract from Volkswagen.
The financial details of the contract are not known. The Crossville plant manager Ms. Peggy Bowling was unavailable to comment on the contract details.
A source at Crossville plant who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the contract is officially not announced by the company said 'Volkswagen confirmed the product.’
Ficosa produces state-of-the-art rear-view mirrors equipped with the miniaturized antennae which integrates, radio, second diversity antenna- popularly known as FM 2- Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), telephone and GPS antenna.
Volkswagen commissioned a contract to Ficosa International S.A. in April 2008, not specific to the Chattanooga assembly plant, to equip Ficosa’s external rear-view mirrors to two of its latest models.
Ficosa International S.A. is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain.
