Have you ever checked to see if you have unclaimed property on Tennessee's Unclaimed Property website?

Millions of dollars are turned over annually to the State of Tennessee by U.S. companies who cannot locate the owners. This intangible property is in the form of bank accounts, stock certificates, checks, unclaimed wages, refunds, gift certificates, and other sources. It is not land or vehicles.

There is no fee charged to process your Unclaimed Property Claim. If you find your name on our list, you may print our claim form, send it directly to them and they will process your claim free of charge to you. Alternatively you may call to request a claim form.

Businesses who owe you money cannot charge or through agreement with others arrange to charge Tennessee owners to find them and return their property before it is reported to the state.

For example: One local resident had worked at UPS for years, after retiring and already receiving pension checks for more than two years, a friend who was checking the Unclaimed Property website noticed his name. He file a claim for the $467.00 and found that it was a final paycheck from two years ago.

If you find your name or the name of your business, complete the form and send a copy of your identification to claim the property.
