By Ward Norris

Monday first shift

Only 20 CAD entries and four reports one which was a crash report. The only noteworthy report was a burglary of a vehicle report Officer Green worked which resulted in arrest of one subject who left his tracks in snow straight back to his trailer next door.

Monday second shift

The shift was slow. CAD listed 37 events. Officers made three arrests and filed four incident reports. The most noteworthy event of the shift is as follows.
Ofc A Lintz filed a report after investigating a theft at an old Norwalk building at 1100 S. Willow. Someone entered the building that is up for sale, and removed $3000 worth of copper pipes.

Monday third shift

Third Shift officers responded to 12 CAD entries resulting in 1 adult custodial arrest, 1 incident report, and 1 injured officer. Officers Reep, C. Taylor, and J. Long responded to Colony House Apartments on Shanks Ave. regarding a woman screaming and being thrown around the apartment. The woman had a large contusion on her forehead where her husband had head-butted her. A knife that he had been chasing her with had been stuck in a door. They arrested him for aggravated domestic assault and were putting him in a patrol car when he began resisting and head-butted Officer Reep. Anthony ended up with two chipped teeth and a neck sprain that caused him to be placed on at least two days medical leave.

Tuesday first shift

1st shift officers responded to 20 CAD events. There were no remarkable calls to report.

Tuesday second shift

The shift was unevenly busy. CAD listed 42 events. Officers made two arrests, filed four incident reports and four crash reports. Ofc Moore filed a report after investigating a theft at Beautiful Balloons on Lowe Avenue. The clerk stated that a large white male removed a French Cancan Costume from the hanger and stuffed it down the front of his pants. The clerk observed this on a camera. By the time she got to him, he had fled the building and left in a silver Pontiac Grand Am.

Tuesday third shift

Third Shift officers responded to 26 CAD entries: 1 adult custodial arrest, 1 accident report, and 1 incident report. Officer deClaire stopped a car at 5th and Pine and he conducted a warrant check on the driver and passenger. An unidentified male got on our radio network and said “Overton County has a warrant on Hawkins for violation of probation”. Officer deClaire arrested the subject but the man insisted he had never been on probation in Overton County. Our dispatchers contacted Overton County Sheriff's Office and they said they did not have any warrants on the subject. Needless to say Hawkins was un-arrested. I know other shifts have had problems with someone talking on our net but this is the first time it has happened to us. Officer J. Long stopped a car on S. Willow and arrested the driver on outstanding warrants from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. He also worked a single car crash at Sharon and Huddleston.
