Friday Second shift

The shift was unevenly busy. CAD listed 43 events. Officers made three arrests, filed three incident reports and two crash reports. Ofc Tayes had an adult custodial arrest after locating adult/male at the Raceway on S. Willow. He ran from Ofc J Ward last Friday during a traffic stop. Ofc Ward had charged him with evading arrest. The sheriff also held warrants for him. Ofc Harrington had an adult custodial arrest after locating adult/male, who was wanted in connection to a robbery last Wednesday. He was located at an apartment on Brown at 10th Street. The gun he used was found in a dumpster near the apartment.

Third shift

CAD showed 36 entries at the time of this report. Officer Springs made a traffic stop on Broad at Jefferson. He issued a citation in lieu of continued custody to adult/male for DOS. Officer Ferguson made a traffic stop at Kroger. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for DUI. Officer Taylor arrested adult/male on an active warrant after responding to a call on N. Washington Ave. Officer Lazcos arrested adult/male for DUI after responding to a call at 560 S. Jefferson Ave. Officer Collier responded to a reported attempted suicide on E. Jere Whitson. The complainant said that her son pointed a gun at himself and said he wanted to die. She got the gun away from him, ran outside and threw it into the woods. We spoke to her son. He said that he did not wish to harm himself. He told EMS works the same thing. K-9 Officer Wilkerson was called to the scene to help search for the gun. It was not found. Officer Melton is going to search the scene again in the morning with his K-9. Officers also filed two traffic crash reports, one disturbance and one assault report.

Saturday first shift

The cad system showed 15 calls for service. Officer Ward filed a hit & run report on E 10th St. Officer Hall took a theft report on N Hickory Ave. Officer Langford made an investigation of a welfare check on a child on Salem Rd.
Officer Greenwood made an info only report on S Creek Rd.

Second shift

At time of this report, CAD had generated 19 calls, 1 traffic crash in parking lot, 1 custodial arrest, 1 citation in lieu and 1 incident report.

Third shift

Third Shift officers responded to 24 CAD entries: 1 injury accident, 2 incident reports, and 5 adult custodial arrests. Officer Reep and several others responded to the Lesley Town Center regarding a fight. The Genesis House Mardi Gras Ball was being held there. A disturbance between two women escalated to a fight between two men. The end result was a man with a broken nose and fractured skull, and one woman arrested for public intoxication. Officer Collier responded on Whitson Avenue regarding a single vehicle crash. A truck with six minors, rolled over after the driver tried to jump the hill on Whitson. Luckily no one was seriously injured.

Sunday first shift

The shift was slow with only 11 CAD entries with one accident report.

Second shift

2nd Shift Officers answered 29 calls for service according to CAD. Officers made 2 arrests and took 2 incident reports. The only significant event occurred at Baymont Inn and Suites, where Ofc. Tayes took a report on a missing loaded Glock 23, .40 cal. The complainant had gone to a pirate party and dressed in a restroom at the party’s location. He is unsure if the gun was lost in the restroom or stolen from his hotel room.

Third shift

CAD showed 17 entries at the time of this report. Officers made two arrests and answered one residential burglary call.
