Here are the shift summaries for this very nice warm weekend.

Friday first shift

The cad system showed 24 calls for service. Officers filed one hit & run accident, one theft report, one vandalism report, one fraud, one investigation and one parking lot accident.

Second shift

The shift was unevenly busy.  CAD listed 48 events.  Officers made one arrest, filed six incident reports and two crash reports. Ofc Herrick filed a report after investigating a shooting incident at a residence on Johnson Drive (just off S. Lovelady).  The resident, who was distraught over not being able to find a job, was alone when he decided to take his life.  He put a rifle to his head and pulled the trigger.  However, he pulled it back away from his head right before it went off.  He then called 911.  He wasn’t injured but he may have a hearing problem because of the gun going off so close to his ear.  He was willingly transported to the emergency room for mental evaluation.  Three rifles were confiscated.  Det Sgt Goolsby responded to the scene. Ofc B Long filed a report after investigating an incident where a female juvenile committed communication theft.  The juvenile obtained the SIM card number from her friend’s cell phone and contacted Verizon.  Through deceit, she convinced Verizon that she was the owner and needed to transfer the number to another cell phone.  Det Sgt Goolsby was notified.

Third shift

CAD showed 26 entries at the time of this report. Officer Collier made a traffic stop at 878 W. Jackson St.  He arrested the driver on an outstanding warrant.  He answered a fight call at Monies later.  He arrested adult/male for public intoxication and Resisting.  A taser was deployed after he refused to cooperate. Officer Moore made a traffic stop on W. Jackson and arrested the driver for DUI. Officer Lazcos answered a call in reference to juveniles on N. Hickory.  He arrested juvenile/male for Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Later, Officer Lazcos made a traffic stop on Brown Ave and arrested the driver for DUI. Officer Ferguson made a traffic stop on N. Washington at 4th and arrested the driver for DUI. Officer deClaire responded to a Domestic call on Brown Ave.  He arrested a female for Domestic Assault.

Saturday first shift

The cad system showed 27 calls for service. Officers worked two traffic crashes and one fraud report @ 1091 S Willow Ave.

Saturday third shift

It was extremely slow for a Saturday night with CAD showing only 17 entries.  Officers filed two Hit & Run reports.

Sunday first shift

There were ten computer aided dispatches on sunday. Officer L Ward worked a traffic crash at Mine Lick Creek Rd. & Hawkins Rd. Officer Langford worked a traffic crash at Salem Rd. & Hwy.111. Officer Green took a theft report on Whitson Chapel Rd.

Second shift

2nd Shift Officers answered 29 calls for service according to CAD. Officers made 4 arrests, 1 non-custodial arrest, and wrote 2 reports.Ofc. Ward investigated an aggravated domestic assault on N. Chestnut Ave. after adult/male went to that location and assaulted his ex-girlfriend with a baseball bat and a metal pipe. The female had attempted to run inside an apartment to get away from him, but he kicked the door in. He later left when a neighbor decided to call the police. The victim did not require medical attention.

Third shift

Third Shift officers responded to 19 CAD entries the generated 6 incident reports. Officer Taylor responded to N. Willow, CJ’s Diner. Someone threw a concrete block through the window on the north side of the building. Change was missing from the cash register but the estimated cost of the damage was $500.00. He also made a theft report at the hospital. A man had his wallet and $300.00 stolen. The wallet was found in a trash can. Officer Ferguson responded to Gainesboro Grade after a woman said someone broke into her apartment. She could not determine if anything was taken. He also responded to Plateau Mental Health when a woman arrived who had overdosed. EMS transported her to the hospital. At the time of this report, she had been placed on life support after having stopped breathing several times.
