Friday First Shift
Activity from Friday consisted of 37 calls for service resulting in only four reports.Officers issued 12 traffic citations.
The most noteworthy report was a residential burglary on South Cedar. The complainant had just been in CRMC and when he came home he found that his Sanyo large screen TV was missing His wife was there but she said she did not know anything about it. The two are separated and the missing television appears suspicious as she admittedly had removed some of his things. A report was taken.
Second Shift
The shift was slow. CAD listed 46 events. Officers made two arrests and filed three incident reports.
Ofc A Lintz had two adult custodial arrests after stopping a vehicle at the Community Bank on S. Willow. She stopped the vehicle because she had knowledge that the driver didn’t have a valid license. She found that they had just attempted to pass on stolen, forged check at the bank. The driver was charged with driving on a suspended license. The passenger was charged with theft and forgery. The checks were stolen at a residence in the county, so the sheriff was notified.
Third Shift
We had 42 entries in cad. Officers took 5 reports and made two arrests.
Officer Reep responded to Hill Ave. and took a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later found crashed and abandoned on Whitson Ave. near city garage.
Officer Ferguson responded to Livingston Hospital and took a report of an alleged rape. The victim stated it occurred at Plateau last week. CID was notified. Officer Ferguson also took a report of a residential burglary on Clay Avenue. A laptop computer was missing from the residence. The back door was left unlocked. Officer Ferguson also made traffic stop at 7th and Dixie. adult/male was charged with DUI.
Officer Collier and Springs were dispatched to Lavern and Janet’s Jewelry on W. Jackson. They discovered a rock had been thrown through the front glass of the store. A rock had also been used on the glass showcase inside to gain entry to several rings. They were sample (fake) rings.
Officer deClaire made traffic stop at 4th and Buck. adult/male was charged with simple possession.
Saturday First Shift
There were 41calls for service on the cad system. Officers worked one traffic crash, one theft, one burglary of a business @ 25 S Whitney Ave, one threat of suicide investigation on E Spring St. Where adult/male was transported handcuffed to the ER by Officers Quiet & Green for evaluation. The male was a suicide threat.
Officers made two arrests in lieu of citation and Officer Savage made an arrest resulting from a traffic stop at 12th & Willow. Officers also issued 44 citations.
Second Shift
2nd Shift Officers answered 34 calls for service according to CAD. Officers made 3 arrests, worked 2 crashes, and took 3 reports.
Ofc. Long took a theft report at Logan’s Restaurant after someone stole a side mirror off of a 2001 Ford Excursion belonging to someone visiting from Florida.
Third Shift
CAD showed 31 entries at the time of this report. The night was relatively slow for a Saturday night. Officer Blankenship was patrolling in the area of Spankies when he heard someone yell an obscene phrase about what he would like to do to the police. He turned and went back to the parking lot. He saw a man exit the business. The man appeared to be upset and very intoxicated. This man had apparently been vomited on. He got angry and punched the other person in the nose. Officer Blankenship arrested the first man for PI. He told the other how to obtain a criminal summons for assault.
Officer Blankenship also filed a Property Damage report. An unknown vehicle hit a utility pole on 10th St at Maple. The pole was cut in half. The vehicle left the scene. Officer Ward filed a Stolen Vehicle report. The resident on E. 18th St. returned home after work to find that someone had taken his motorcycle.
Sunday First Shift
The cad system showed 22 calls for service. Officers worked 1 traffic crash, took one welfare check on a small child that was found wandering the streets on J Whitson Ave. DCS was notified and the child’s father was found.
Officer Langford answered one domestic call and a harassment call. Officer Savage made one arrest citation in lieu of after making a traffic stop at 641 N Willow Ave.
Second Shift
According to CAD we responded to 21 calls for service. Officers filed two incident, two accidents and one arrest report.
Officer Tayes responded to S Jefferson on a domestic. After an investigation the husband was arrested and charged with domestic assault.
Third Shift
They had 21 calls for service that resulted in 2 custodial arrests, 1 citation in lieu and 4 reports.
The most significant event was a call to Baskin Robbins on S. Jefferson. The complainant next door to the business heard noises at the back of the store and called police. Officer Ward was the first to arrive and discovered the back door pried open. Sgt. Taylor, DeClaire and Blankenship arrived on scene as back up. Officer DeClaire and Ward entered through the back door and the suspect came out the front. He was immediately challenge and he fled on foot. After pursuing him through the back of motels Hampton and Comfort Suites he turned north and was captured in the parking lot of Best Western. Third shift Officers did an outstanding job.
