Cookeville, TN - As of December 10, patients requiring outpatient imaging studies will no longer need to come to the hospital for their tests.

Offering same-day scheduling, competitive pricing and free valet parking, the Outpatient Imaging Center of Cookeville Regional opens Monday, December 10 at 251 West Third Street – just one block from the hospital’s main campus.

The Center offers Saturday morning appointments for busy schedules and dedicated board-certified radiologists on-site to expedite test results.

And that’s not all, when patients finish their exams, they are able to enjoy a coffee bar offering a variety of hot beverages.

The region’s only “all digital” outpatient imaging center, the Center’s imaging services include digital x-ray, nuclear medicine, CT (computed tomography), and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and 4-D ultrasound.

As a matter of fact, the Outpatient Imaging Center features the region’s only high-field “open” MRI which is especially beneficial for patients who tend to be claustrophobic.

Patients having MRI’s also have the added convenience of a television to pass the time or may take advantage of the Ipod docking station that is also available.

The Center also includes the fastest outpatient (40-slice) CT machine in the Upper Cumberland.

Women’s imaging services is also offered at the new Center in The Women’s Center.

The Center is a soothing, private environment and includes digital mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and bone density imaging.
