APSA To Host Pharmaceutical Sales Training, March 25

Tennessee Tech University is hosting the American Pharmaceutical Sales Association’s annual training and certification program from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, in Room 342 in the Roaden University Center.

The curriculum of the three-hour program consists of pre-hire and post-hire overviews, role playing and tactical issues, pharmaceutical time management, labeling laws, FDA functional laws, physician sampling and detailing, medical terminology and a detailed question-and-answer forum.

“The pharmaceutical sales industry offers a premium combination of both lucrative salary and career stability, but this field has proven difficult to break into if not done through proper avenues,” said Alice Camuti, director of Career Services at TTU.

The APSA offers the only certified training program in a live classroom setting that is geared to helping job seekers enter into pharmaceutical sales.

The organization’s advisory board and certified trainers presently work for or have retired from such high-profile pharmaceutical companies as Pfizer, Wyeth, Merck, Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Bayer Healthcare, Bausch & Lomb and more.

All college students, alumni and local community members who earn their certification will be admitted into the APSA’s PharmaLink program until they earn jobs.

Space is limited, pre-registration is required, and there will be a fee to attend the session.
