Ground Broken For New EMS, County Health Care, and Election Commission
President Harry Truman said, "It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit,"
After four years in the making, ground was broken for two new buildings, first a new EMS facility to house emergency vehicals for the west side of town, and a building that will house the Putnam County Health Department and the Putnam County Election Commission. The Director of the Putnam County EMS services, Randy Porter, saw the fruition of his efforts Wednesday March 2, 2008. This process started in march of 2004... The buildings will be located on South Willow in the region of the Country Giant only in the fields across the street. Appreciation was shown for several different branches of local government, the land and facilities committee of the the County Commission, the county commission, the city of Cookeville, and the 911 board. Director Porter expresses special thanks to County Executive Kim Blaylock who let him work through the hurdles of this project until it was completed. Congratulations to all who helped in this well executed creation, and thanks for watching UCDailynews.com. |
