Police at Tennessee Tech University have given an all-clear for Johnson Hall, an academic building that was evacuated earlier in the day.

The all-clear, allowing students and faculty to return to the building, was issued about 2 p.m.

University Police called for a lockdown of TTU’s Johnson Hall around 11 a.m. after someone reported seeing a person with bullets in a restroom inside the building.

The lockdown was initiated at 11:10 a.m. by University Police using the building’s internal public address system.
Around 12:30 p.m. University Police evacuated Johnson Hall to do a more thorough search of the building. City and university police officers were stationed at the building. All classes in Johnson Hall were cancelled for the day and evening. Classes will resume as scheduled on Wednesday.
