Cookeville Police responded to Walgreen’s Pharmacy on Thursday in reference to a forged prescription.

According to Officer Anthony Leonard, “Donna Wright, age 53, presented a prescription for Darvocet which had been altered. The prescription was written with no refills and had been changed to read two refills.”

Walgreen pharmacists verified with Cookeville Family Medicine & Urgent Care who wrote the prescription and confirmed it had been altered.

“I had been sitting in the doctors office and was just messing around with the prescription when I circled the 2 and the Darvocet. I didn’t think it would hurt anyone,” said Ms. Wright.

Wright told Officer Leonard that she did not intend to fill the refills and that she was just fooling around with the prescription.

Wright was placed under arrest and charged with attempting to pass a forged prescription and was taken to the Putnam County Justice Center.
