COOKEVILLE- The 2008 Regional Job Fair will offer eager job seekers an opportunity to find jobs with several area employers on Thursday, May 15.

The job fair will be held at the Leslie Town Centre, One West First Street, Cookeville, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Employers from all over the Upper Cumberland region will have the opportunity to connect with hundreds of potential employees.

More than 50 of the Upper Cumberland’s best employers will participate in the Regional Job Fair to meet and interview candidates for career opportunities.

“The pool of talent across the state of Tennessee is significant,” said Jim McGeehin, chair of the Chamber’s Workforce Development Committee. “The Regional Job Fair is designed to connect these candidates with some of the Upper Cumberland’s best employers. The goal is to retain the finest talent in Middle Tennessee and add them to the local workforce."

Employers are encouraged to focus there talent search on the Regional Job Fair.

“Exhibit space is still available for any company looking for an attractive, cost-effective way to recruit workers for their companies,” said Ellene Duncan, vice president of the Chamber. “This job fair will help ensure that our employers are geared for future growth.”

The Regional Job Fair is presented by the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with regional chambers of Clay, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Smith, Van Buren, and White counties.

Additional partners include Motlow State, Nashville State, Roane State, Volunteer State, Tennessee Tech University, Tennessee Technology Centers, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and others.

All job seekers are encouraged to attend the most comprehensive career event in the Upper Cumberland region. No pre-registration is required.
