Cookeville, TN – Atrial fibrillation is the most common heart arrhythmia, affecting more than 3 million Americans. People with this condition are at an increased risk of other heart rhythm problems, chronic fatigue, heart failure and – even more importantly – stroke.

The American Heart Association recommends aggressive treatment of this heart arrhythmia and there are several options available to treat it, including a new minimally invasive procedure called Ex-Maze that is now available at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Cookeville Regional is actually one of only six facilities nationwide currently offering this new approach.

To learn more about atrial fibrillation and treatment options for this life-altering condition, including the Ex-Maze procedure, make plans now to attend a free community seminar to be held Thursday, May 29 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Education Center at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Speakers will be cardiologist Michael Lenhart, M.D., cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons Lewis Wilson, M.D. and James Fonger, M.D. and cardiac electrophysiologist Chris Jones, M.D.

The seminar is free but space is limited. Please RSVP today by calling 931-646-2629 to reserve your seat.
