A boating trip turned deadly July 18 in DeKalb County. Investigators said around 9 p.m. Friday two boats on Center Hill Lake collided.

Tammy Coombs died in the accident. Her husband was critically injured. Two other passengers were also hurt.

Investigators believe Steve Maggart was driving the other boat and left the scene. Reports say when investigators questioned him, he said he thought he hit something.

Wednesday morning, five days after the wreck, Maggart said the allegations against him were false. Maggart said he left the scene to call for help, but TWRA investigators said there's no indication that Maggart called 911.
