Woman Putnam Deputy Arrested For Domestic Assault

A Putnam Deputy Sheriff who works with domestic violence cases has been charged with domestic violence. She has also been suspended without pay from her job.

Kimberly Lamay Keith, 33, of Cookeville, was arrested at 9:49 p.m.last Friday at her residence and charged with domestic assault in a warrant taken by Putnam Deputy David Gibbons.

She was released from jail, according to booking records, at 10:12 a.m. on Saturday after making a property bond.

Putnam Sheriff David Andrews was quoted as saying, “We take domestic violence charges very seriously, no matter who it is.

“Be assured that this case will be handled just like any other case as it goes through the court system.”

Keith makes an initial appearance in court on Sept. 15.
