DUI With Revoked License Rear-Ends Car

DUI is an acronym for "Driving Under Influence", which could be any number of ingested influences that may impair a driver's ability to perform safely.

One should not to drive after having alcoholic beverages or after taking medications that clearly say do not operate machinery.

Cookeville Police were called to investigate an accident at E. Spring Street and Crockett where Billy Joe Nix was driving a 2002 Pontiac Montana that had rear ended a Toyota Avalon.

According to the police report, Mr. Nix was found to have a revoked license and when questing Nix, the investigating Officer noticed a strong odor associated with alcohol coming from his breath.

Mr. Nix was asked to perform field sobriety tasks of which, he failed all three.

Billy Joe Nix, a 34 year old Cookeville man was arrested and charged with DUI and Driving on Revoked License.
