(In the picture) Kenny Dewayne Cooper age 27 of Crossville, TN was recognized from prior arrests when Cookeville Police responded to a Shoplifter complaint from Food Lion on E. Spring Street. Cooper told Officers that he never left the store with the items even though he had put the items inside his bluejean jacket and the Officer commented in the report that he could not be charged with shoplifting because he never left the store. However, the store manager gave the Officer a hypodermic needle that Mr. Cooper had dropped while store security detained him, it had residue of dilaudid in it. The arresting Officer also found that Mr. Cooper had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on other charges. Cooper was arrested and transported to Jail. (In the Picture) Kendra Elaine Swallows age 20 of Crossville, TN was charged with Criminal Impersonation after Cookeville Police stop a vehicle for wrong license plates. In checking Identification, Ms. Swallows did not have any ID with her but said her name was Kayla Swallows and also gave a false birth date. Officers check and verified from a recent booking picture who Kendra Swallows was and that she had an outstanding warrant. The driver of the vehicle (not shown) Ms. Bobbie Brady was found to be driving on suspended license and had four prior convictions for Driving while suspended. Both Swallows and Brady were arrested and transported to jail. Swallows also will have to serve 20 days in Cumberland County for a previous conviction. Timothy Ray Kelly age 44 was cited for simple drug possession when Cookeville Police were questioning area individuals about a theft in the area of N. Chestnut. Kelly was asked if he had anything illegal on his person and he pulled out a handful of white pills that he said he purchased from an unknown person. Kmart reported to the Cookeville Police that a white male ran out of the back door carrying a television without paying for it. The suspect could not be found and which way he went, could not b determined. Someone stole a DISH brand satellite that was attached to the outside of the Technology Store on S. Willow Avenue. No suspects Several burglaries were reported in the Cookeville area: E. 15th Street, Denton Avenue and Buffalo Valley Road. Occupants in each case were away during the burglaries. |
