Officers with White County Sheriff Department found and destroyed approximately 6,000 marijuana plants, June 25, off of Long Hollow Road, after they were found by helicopter the previous day.
According to Detective Dale Bumbalough with WCSD, the marijuana had been planted in several different patches in clearings in the wooded area. The difficult terrain and number of plants reportedly caused officers to work most of the day cutting and dragging the marijuana out through the woods.
Bumbalough stated no arrests have been made, but the investigation continues.
