Last December the Cookeville City Council voted to consider supporting the proposed 5th interchange at Mine Lick Creek Road, The council committed to construct a road from SR 135 West (Burgess Falls Road) to the proposed interchange to serve as a connector route.

Skipping forward a half year, Dave Cooley, of Cooley Public Strategies in Nashville, led a series of meetings with area leaders and discussed how to use some of the available stimulus money for the Highlands region including White, Overton, and Putnam Counties.

Apparently the governor has budgeted in that 5th Cookeville Interchange for the right-of-way acquisition part of the project to be completed in 2010.
