Senator Tracy Relates with Small Business

State Senator Jim Tracy visited Cookeville Monday, meeting with local leaders to learn more about this area's needs and political agenda in D.C.

Tracy indicated that he was frustrated with the national government by describing the effects the government is having on his own small insurance business.

"This past year has been the hardest year ever for our three-employee insurance company." said Sen. Tracy, a Shelbyville, TN resident.

Sen. Tracy said he is acutely aware of the needs of small businesses, and that "70% of all the people employed in America are employed by small(er) businesses."

"The current taxation and proposed taxation inspires fear and thwarts the small U.S. businesses which are the backbone of the economy." said Tracy.

The senator also urged support for the military and other defense organizations as apparently the terrorist activity is once again on the rise.

Sen. Tracy (R) is one of the few hopefuls with their hat in the ring for the Tennessee 2010 senate seat vacated by thirteen term incumbent Bart Gordon.

As the history-making race in Mass. came to a close, Senator Tracy announced, "Brown’s win is a real triumph for the American people, and it sends a painfully clear message to Washington: Voters do not approve of the programs or the practice of the Obama Administration and this runaway Congress.”

He continued, saying, “Scott Brown ran a solid, solutions-based, positive campaign and you are going to see the same thing from me in Tennessee’s sixth Congressional district. Middle Tennesseans are ready for their voice to be heard as well. If they will send me to Washington, the people of my district will have no louder voice for conservative principles,” continued Tracy.
