People showed up from all over the Cookeville/Putnam County area Saturday afternoon to attend City Scape's 2nd Annual Cream City Crankin'.

The event started with the Homemade Ice Cream contest.

Preparing their own ice cream with Mayfield Milk, contestants presented their ice cream to the judges at 2:30pm.

With judging based on flavor, texture and appearance, the winners were: Dan Swartling, 1st place ($100); Aileen Guerrero, 2nd place ($75); Amanda Nguy, 3rd place ($50); Karen Harris, Honorable Mention (Mayfield Gift Basket).

In addition to the ice cream contest, there was 50's soda shop music, inflatables for the kids and lots of delicious Mayfield ice cream.

Also making a special guest appearance was JWC's Tim Scruggs of B-Rock 93.7 and Sheila Scruggs of Lite Rock 95.9.

"I am so happy with the large turnout. The weather is just right and everyone seems to be having a great time," said City Scape Director Toni Evans.

When asking those attending the event what they thought of this year's Cream City Crankin', one event-goer said "we just moved here a few months ago and this is exactly what we were hoping Cookeville would be.

City Scape's next big event will be the 12th Annual Fall Fun Fest September 7-8.
