National Flood Safety Week

This week is designated as National Flood Safety Awareness Week by NOAA and the National Weather Service.

Their Flood Safety web site is chock full of information intended to highlight some of the many ways floods can occur, the hazards associated with floods, and what you can do to save life and property. It is divided into three main parts.

PART 1 - Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS)

PART 2 - Turn Around, Don't Drown (TADD)

PART 3 - Floods, Droughts, and other Related Phenomena

DID YOU KNOW?

Many of you may be surprised by the following information. Did you know your home may not be covered in the event of flooding? Here are two web sites that discuss your property and flooding.

Lastly, check with your insurance agent about what coverage you may need.
