Local Radio Celebrity "Gator" Harrison Moving To Chattanooga

According to Radio-info.com Gator Harrison has taken a job with Clear Channel in Chattanooga.

"Harrison joins Clear Channel as operations manager for the company’s Chattanooga, Tenn., cluster and as program director of country WUSY-FM (US101), effective Aug. 2.

He is currently the program director and morning co-host at WGSQ-FM (94.7 The Country Giant) Cookeville, Tenn. In Chattanooga, he will replace Jay Cruze, who exited in May.

Harrison began his radio career at WSMT Sparta, Tenn., later moving to CHR WYHY (Y107) Nashville.

He has been with WGSQ since 1996. His morning show (with co-host StyckMan) has won the Country Music Assn.’s small market broadcaster award in 2007 and 2009, and WGSQ won the Academy of Country Music’s station of the year award in 2005."

Note: Gator does a lot of community work, and the photos show him addressing several thousand 8th Graders from throughout the Upper Cumberland Region at the Hooper Eblen Center in Cookeville.

Gator reportedly put in his two week notice at the Country Giant late last week.

It just isn't the same without Gator because I miss his funnest waking up hearing gator in the morning.
