Early Friday morning customers had a surprising experience at the Sparta WalMart Supercenter as they celebrated a re-grand opening of the facility. Over the past month, the store has been through a significant "face lift" with exterior improvements, and interior redesign of the shopping center. "It's fresh and that's always a good thing" said one Sparta customer.
The formalities began with Brad Norris leading the group in prayer, followed by Boy Scout Troop 175 marching through 2 lines of WalMart employees and presenting the colors. John Morris lead the pledge of allegiance.
Brad and the Cat Daddies (led by Brad, Willard Norris’s son) the played the Star Spangled Banner with a saxophone solo.
Then the Superstore manager, Rachel Creel, stepped up to the microphone and expressed appreciation for the dedication several employees displayed by working 18 hour days in preparation for the re-grand opening.
Following this, Creel publically recognized associates with 20 years experience.
The Sparta White County Chamber of Commerce then did the ribbon cutting ceremony followed by the “Walmart Cheer” which was presented by Carrie’s Dance Studio.
Celebration music was performed by Brad and the Cat Daddies and everyone enjoyed the hors d'oeuvres and especially that WalMart cake.
Special thanks to WalMart associate, Jessie Horn, for all the help.
