The Putnam County Voting Commission met Tuesday morning, primarily to finalize the details for the upcoming elections.

The Commission reported that the first round of primaries went smoothly, and that the current pre-voting underway (which ends this Saturday) is showing a good turnout as "conscientious citizens cast their votes."

Linda Daniel and Chair Terry Herrin (one Democrat and one Republican as stipulated by law) together reviewed all of the newly registered voter cards for validity and legitimacy.

While they were completing that task, Jean Cody, Perry Bartlett, and Joan Ross audited the voting machines.   Perry climbed the ladder and read off the numbers on the little tags of each machine, while Jean and Joan cross-checked those numbers on the lists.

Election Administrator Debbie Steidl, reminds everyone that Saturday is the final day for early voting--for more information, click here.

On a side note, Chairman Terry Herrin commented on the pending lawsuit against the commissioners, stating that he seen indications that the lawsuit (and the funding thereof) appears to be moving closer to the setting of a chancery court date.
