Sign Up Now! Quilt Trail Bus Tours

Reservations are now being taken to view the new quilt squares on the expanded Upper Cumberland Quilt Trail in Putnam, White, and Jackson Counties.
The tours are conducted in conjunction with the Upper Cumberland Quilt Festival, and include lunch and transportation along with insider visits with Barn & Quilt owners along the trail.
It will be a photographer’s delight!
Tours start at 9:00 am at Trinity Assembly (Corner of West Wall Street & West Main Street) in Algood, TN. Signs will be posted.  Tours return to Algood around 3:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sep 16
View beautiful vistas, hand-crafted furniture, quilt and antique shops, and the first brick home in White County on this tour. Eat lunch at Miss Marenda’s Tea Room in historic Sparta. Travel to ten quilt square sites in Putnam and White Counties.

Friday, Sep 17
Antique lovers and shopaholics alike will enjoy this tour! Travel to historic districts in Jackson County to view quilt squares on the Gainesboro Square and in the town of Granville.
Have time to peruse the shops at each and eat lunch at the 1880’s T.B. Sutton General Store, home of Sutton’s Ole Time Music Hour in Granville. Travel to seven quilt square sites in Putnam and Jackson Counties.
Space is limited so don't delay in reserving a seat on these special tours.

Baxter Street Fair

The festivities start at 10:00 am with the Parade of the Proud in Downtown Baxter. Education is this year's theme, celebrating the 100th chartered anniversary of Baxter Seminary and the 50th anniversary of Upperman High School.
Other activities will include a 5K Run, vintage car show, vendor booths, live music, auction with proceeds supporting the Baxter Medical Clinic and more. The concert by Legacy Classic Rock Band starts at 7:00 pm. Get more information at 931-284-8949.

 

Walking Quilt Trail in Red Boiling Springs

Come and join Red Boiling Springs at the grand opening of the “Walking Quilt Trail” at the City Park at 9:15 a.m.   This is a cooperative project of Red Boiling Springs Government and Vision 2020.

8th Annual Sierra Hull Bluegrass Festival

The city of Byrdstown presents an evening of Bluegrass at the Pickett County Athletic Field with the Eighth Annual Sierra Hull Bluegrass Festival.
Sierra Hull is a resident of Pickett County and presently a student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Acknowledged by her musical peers, Sierra has received nominations from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IPMA) for Emerging Artist of the Year and Mandolin player of the year.
The concert starts at 3:00 pm with performances from Sierra Hull & Hwy 111, The Bilbreys and Hub City from Cookeville TN. Also appearing will be Marty & Charmaine Lanham and the Dixie Café band at 6:30 pm. Sierra’s brother Cody will take the stage with his band before the evening finale.
Sierra and Hwy 111 will perform the first of three shows at 3:00 pm to kick off the festivities, the second set will beginning at 5:30 with the final set of the evening beginning at 8:30. Tickets will be available at the gate. Tickets will be $7.00 for adults. $3.00 for children between the ages of six and twelve and children under the age of six, admission will be free.
