Funeral Services for Donald W. Davis, age 83, will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at 11:00 am from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home with interment in West Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 pm and on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 9:00 am until time of the services at 11:00 am.

Mr. Davis went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Masters Health Care Center.

He was born November 25, 1927, in Putnam County, TN to the late Haskel & Minnie Dixon Davis.

He worked for many years as an electrician with Government Services Administration and was a member of Summerfield United Methodist Church. Donald loved to sing and hear good ole gospel music, repair lawn mowers and old clocks.

He is survived by his wife Betty Lund Davis of Cookeville, a son and daughter-in-law: Ronald & Debbie Davis of Whiteland, Ind., a daughter and son-in-law: Donna & Gary Harmon of Morehead City, NC, & two brothers and sisters-in-law: Winnell and Tina Davis of Jeffersonville, Ind, and JB & Sue Davis of Cookeville.

He was preceded in death by her parents, his first wife: Mary Frances McCaleb Davis & three sisters.

Pall Bearers will be family and friends.

Bro. Tommy Harris will officiate at the services.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the West Cemetery fund or the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
