As the stomach turns in Algood:

* QUESTION: Does Loyd Norris get paid to be the Algood Volunteer Fire Department Chief? The word "volunteer" seems to imply that he does not. If he does, it's a nominal amount. How about $1,200 per year standard firefighter pay?

* QUESTION: Why is this suppoed pay conflict just now coming to light? Mr. Norris should have been notified by Algood that he was not qualified to run when he submitted his qualifying papers?

* QUESTION: Does Councilman Norris, per M.A.T.S., abstain on Council votes re the Fire Department. He certainly does. Mr. O'Mara's opinion, and it's just that, is coming on top of the diemissal of Freddie Maxwell as City Manager. It would seem to be no coincidence since Councilman Norris voted against giving health insurance to Council persons.

This smacks of retribution by a cabal of Algood Council persons acting in concert with the Mayor. Here's hoping Chief/Counsilman Norris fights this ouster attempt in court. He's been Fire Chief for over thirty years. By the way, the Algood City Charter mandates a City Council meeting on the second Tuesday of each month.
