Candidate Line-Up as Deadline Nears

In one of the biggest election years in history for Tennessee, Putnam County residents are watching to see who enters the race. 

The deadline for those who will qualify and run in the various Putnam County races is February 18. 

For the office fo Putnam County Executive, there are currently only two candidates who have met the requirements with plans to run.  Very Crabtree, who was registered to run as an independent candidate, has withdrawn his candidacy.   The remaining candidates are current Putnam County Executive Kim Blaylock and Dennis Tennant, a former member of the County Commission. 

There are two candidates for the office of Sherrif.  Following the announcement by incumbent Red Lamb that he will not be running in this year's race, there are several persons who have expressed interest in the job of Road Supervisor. 

Gail Glover will be leaving the job of County Trustee and several people have indicated an interest in that position.

Marcia Borys is the only candidate thus far applying as candidate for the office of Circuit Court Clerk.

There are two candidates in the race for County Clerk.
