City Council Sets Boundaries for Sexually Oriented Businesses

Tools

By Andrew Steele

The City Council had their regular meeting last night in which they considered on second reading a decision that will affect the location of sexually oriented businesses.

Between the first and second reading there was a letter sent by an owner of one of these businesses. The letter asked if Video Max and Books A Million would fall under these guidelines. It was said that they would not, but it was also said that if any new businesses came in that did fall under these guidelines the businesses would have to follow the same rules.

Existing sexually oriented businesses will be grandfathered into their current locations and will not be required to move.

New sexually oriented businesses must locate outside city limits.
