The weather was perfect for the big turnout to Park View's annual PTO Panda Run Thursday.

The Run began at 8:15 am with the Pre-K students at the baseball field across from the gym side parking lot and ended with the Kindergarten students at 12:05 pm.

Students competed individually for prizes and awards, as well as classes competing for a special Mega ice cream party.

After the Run, students were treated to a picnic lunch on the shaded front lawn with hotdogs being grilled by Principal Bobby Winningham and Deputy Director of Schools Mike Goolsby.

The Panda Run is Park View's biggest fund-raiser of the year, with last year's funds enabling the school to upgrade and restore their playground.

Along with raising funds, the Panda Run is a program designed to promote health and physical fitness.
