State Sen. Burks Speaks To PSMS 5Th Grade Class

The Prescott South Middle School 5Th Grade class has been studying state and local government in class recently. For the end of the section had a special guest. Senator Charlotte Burks, Tennessee State Senator of the 15Th District came and spoke to them about her role in the state government.

Senator Burks taught about the role of the house of Representatives and the senate in the making of laws. She also taught the different committees within the senate and talked about her role in ones like the education subcommittee.

After speaking, Senator Burks opened the floor for questions.
